- 1). Turn the PSP off and remove the battery and memory stick from the device. Insert the Magic Memory Stick into the PSP.
- 2). Insert the service tool battery and the PSP will turn on automatically. The PSP will be in service mode.
- 3). Press the "X" button to proceed in unlocking the PSP and installing custom firmware. Press the "X" button once more to verify that you want to install the custom firmware.
- 4). Press the "X" button once more to shut down the PSP. Replace the battery and memory stick with the normal ones.
