How to Plant Wild Peach Trees
- 1). Select a place in your yard for the wild peach trees that receives six to eight hours of sun. Add 4 to 6 inches of compost to the soil and work it in to a depth of 2 to 3 feet in the area you want to plant the wild peach trees.
- 2). Dig holes for the wild peach trees as deep as the root ball and three times as wide. Spread out the tree's roots in the hole and fill the hole with soil. Space trees about 30 feet apart.
- 3). Water the newly planted wild peach trees with 2 to 5 gallons of water each. Pour the water around the base of the tree slowly to avoid runoff.
- 4). Apply pure nitrogen fertilizer to the wild peach trees. Add 1 oz. of nitrogen to each tree. Spread the fertilizer in a 12-inch circle at the base of the tree. Water the trees well after you fertilize.
