Flashbacks in Italics
A needle lands on a record. Hurley is in the food pantry of the hatch eating candy and chips. He has a full steak dinner and ice cream. Jin appears in the doorway speaking English, "Hi, there Hurley."
"Jin, you're here," Hurley says.
"I sure am."
"Dude, you speak English," Hurley says.
"No," Jin says, "you're speaking Korean."
In Korean Hurley says, "I am?"
A man in a chicken suit stands next to Jin. "What's he doing here?" Hurley asks.
The countdown "blip" of the timer begins. "Everything is about to change," Jin says. "Have a cluckity-cluck-cluck-cluck day, Hugo."
The chicken man says, "Hurley," in Kate's voice.
"Hurley," Kate says again and Hurley wakes up at the computer. The timer is at 3:44. "You fell asleep?" Kate says and Hurley tries to pass it off as resting his eyes.
Kate taps a note on the monitor and says, "The numbers are written right here."
"Yeah," Hurley says, "I remember the numbers." Hurley enters the numbers.
Climb Up
Jin motions for Sawyer to lift him up. "No way," Sawyer says. "No more human pyramids."Michael yells for them to let him out, but no one comes. Sawyer tells him to chill and Michael says that "every minute I spend down here is another minute my boy is still out there." Sawyer points out that "Rambina" and her buddies are trying to figure out what to do with them, and until they do, there is nothing that can be done.
Jin points to Sawyer's shoulder wound, looking concerned. The cover opens and the big guy drops a rope down and tells Jin to climb up. Sawyer tells him not to do it and Ana-Lucia points a gun at Michael and tells Jin to come up. He does.
She tells Michael to come up and again Sawyer says not to. She hits him with a rock. Michael climbs up and Sawyer says, "You want me, Hot Lips, you're going to have to come down here and get me." The cover closes.
Jesus Calling
Hurley sits on his couch with the lotto ticket, watching the lotto show. He passes out when his numbers are called. His mother runs in and slaps his face. He claims that he slipped, but she wonders if it's his heart. She tells him he needs to change his life. "Maybe if you pray everyday," she says, "Jesus Christ will come down from heaven, take 200 pounds and bring you a decent woman and a new car."
Hurley says, "Maybe I don't want to change. Maybe I like my life."
The phone rings and Hurley's mom says, "Oh, that must be Jesus."
After talking on the phone for a moment she says to Hurley, "Yes, it is Jesus. He wants to know what color car you want."
