Caring for your skin is an all -over body process that has several standards. Each of your many parts has skin that has different needs, so knowing what you will want when you are out will help you make good choices.

1. Feed your skin from the inside. Contrary to popular belief, foods such as french fries and chocolate do not cause acne. That being said, if you suffer from problem skin, your diet is important. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, nuts and whole grains. All of these are packed with nutrients which will help to combat breakouts.

2. You should be sure to wash your face at least twice a day. Wash your face in the morning as soon as you wake up. Dirt, dead skin cells and dust collect on your skin overnight. This can cause your face to break out and cause problems with your skin like scarring.

3. The younger you are when you start a skin care routine, the better your long-term results will be. Start considering how you treat your skin when you are a teenager or in your early twenties. The better you treat your skin over time, the better your skin will look in the future.

4. Make facial peels a limited part of your skin care routine. Particularly if you have dry skin, these peels and masks can take away oil from your skin, exacerbating the situation. Look for a cleansing milk or a foaming cleanser instead. If you really want to use a mask, find the ones that are "deeply hydrating".

5. Toner is one of the best things that you can use on your skin. A great toner will help to get rid of the impurities on your skin and even out the look of your face. Apply toner after you wash your face in the shower and follow with a top quality moisturizer with SPF.

6. Treat excessively oily skin with a mask made of honey and oatmeal. Mix two tablespoons of oatmeal, a teaspoon of honey and just enough warm purified water, to create a paste. Cleanse your skin as usual, but don't rinse your face with cold water or apply a toner. Instead, apply the honey and oatmeal paste. Leave it on for twenty minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Rinse again with cold water and apply the toner of your choice.

7. If you suffer from dry skin, apply moisturizer to your body immediately after you shower, when your skin is still damp. This will seal in the moisture of your skin and prevent it from drying too quickly. If you wait until you skin is dry before applying a moisturizer, you will not get the benefit of retaining your skin's natural moisture.
