When Does Morning Sickness Occur?
For many women it can be the first indication that they are pregnant.
Not a very nice start though, huh? Combined with the pure exhaustion that women experience in early pregnancy, sickness can cause depression.
If there are also other children involved, the school run and most definitely making lunches becomes harder to manage.
Preparing lunches can bring on nausea.
If possible, get the Dad to help by doing the lunch boxes the night before.
Accept any help offered by friends - make things easier on yourself.
The more sleep you get, the better you will feel.
Rest as much as possible, as a Mum of two I do realize how ridiculous this may sound, but even if its ten minutes here, ten minutes there.
Some women in early pregnancy can become so exhausted that they find themselves nodding off in the middle of the supermarket - listen to what your body is telling you.
Morning sickness for a lot of women does start to get better at the end of the first trimester (week 12 to 13).
For some women it can continue into the second trimester and for some unlucky ones it can even continue until the birth of the baby.
It can be so bad, that even a smell is enough to trigger it.
Eating foods that you ate as little as a month ago may no longer be possible without feeling sick.
This is another time to listen to the body, your body will usually let you know what foods you will be able to manage.
Women with morning sickness can sometimes survive on little more then dry crackers and toast whilst feeling ill.
