What to Expect on Your Week 3 Pregnancy
You want to nurture that growing baby inside of you in the best way that you can.
On your week 3 pregnancy, the fertilized egg or what is scientifically coined as zygote, divides several times so it can become a tiny ball of microscopic cells.
When it divides, the blastocyst will make its way from the fallopian tube to the uterus where it will implant itself in the uterine wall and grow for the next nine months.
What are the changes in your body during your week 3 pregnancy? You may not really notice that the fertilized egg divides and transports to the uterus but your body is for sure gearing to house the blastocyst.
On this stage, your body will begin to produce progesterone and estrogen.
These are pregnancy hormones that will be accountable for a host of bodily changes and symptoms like morning sickness and dizziness.
For now until the next couple of weeks, you won't see any difference physically.
It will feel like nothing is different- at least on the outside.
On your week 3 pregnancy, you'll also notice that your sense of smell is suddenly stronger.
According to some scientists, the heightened sense of smell makes an ovulating woman more sensitive to the lure of her partner's pheromones and these chemical compounds put your sex drive into overdrive.
Meaning? You're always in the mood for some lovin'.
You will have raised basal body temperature.
This is due to your progesterone production, it surges once you ovulate.
This will prepare the uterus to receive the fertilized egg.
It's also possible to experience lower abdominal aches.
About one in four women would feel a twinge or series of cramps in the said area and it usually occurs on the side where you're ovulating from.
Some women experience nausea, breast soreness, and fatigue.
If the pain is causing you too much discomfort, it's best to consult your health care provider.
