- 1). Navigate to the DIVX link in the Resources section. Download the newest version of DIVX Web Player. Install the codec package by double clicking the icon. Follow the on-screen commands for an error-free installation. DIVX Web Player is required to view movies on the StageVu website. Its likely that the program has become corrupted or out-of-date.
- 2). Clear your browser cache. Open your Web browser. Click on "Tools" and select "Delete Browser" History" for Internet Explorer and "Clear Recent History" for Firefox. Delete cookies, temporary Internet files and other saved information.
- 3). Increase your computer's virtual memory. When physical RAM (random access memory) runs low, your computer turns hard drive space into virtual memory. Click on "Start" and "Control Panel." Change the Control Panel to "Classic View" by clicking the option on the left.
- 4). Click on "System" and click on "Advanced System Settings" or the "Advanced" tab. In the System Properties dialog box click the "Advanced" tab. In the box that says Performance click on "Settings." A Performance Options box will open. Click the "Advanced" tab again. In the box for Virtual Memory click "Change." Choose your hard drive and increase the size of the virtual memory to the recommended size shown. Click on "Apply" and then click "OK."
- 5). Check your computer's "DirectDraw" settings. Go to "Start" and click on "Run" type "DXDIAG" in the command prompt. Click the "Display1" tab in the DXDiag dialog box. Enable "Direct Draw Acceleration." Enable the same settings in "Display2" if the tab is visible.
