- 1). Verify that the ignition is turned off before attempting to remove the front terminal battery.
- 2). Detach the negative battery cable from the front battery terminal with an open-end wrench, setting the terminal post aside and moving the cable out of the way.
- 3). Disconnect the positive battery cable from the positive terminal post with the open-end wrench, setting the terminal post aside and moving the cable out of the way.
- 4). Remove the battery clamps from the battery tray, unscrewing the bolts holding the battery in place with a socket wrench.
- 5). Lift the front terminal battery out of the engine compartment and set it aside.
