How to Install Eclipse for BlackBerry
- 1). Open your web browser and visit the BlackBerry Java Application Development website.
- 2). Enter your Developer Zone account email address and password into the appropriate fields and click "Log In." If not registered with the BlackBerry Development Zone, click the "Register For Free" button follow the required steps to register.
- 3). Scroll down to the middle of the page and locate the "Key Information for Developing Java Applications" section. Click the drop-down menu and select "BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse v1.3 MR." Choose either the Windows version or the Mac version, depending on your operating system.
- 4). Click the "Download" button on the next page and save the file to your desktop. Allow the file to download.
- 5). Double-click the downloaded .exe file on your desktop to launch the BlackBerry Java Plug-in installer.
- 6). Click "Next" in the installer window then choose "I accept the terms of the License Agreement." Click "Next" again.
- 7). Click the "Choose" button on the next window and navigate to the root Eclipse installation folder on your hard drive, sometimes called "eclipse-java-helios-SR2-win32," and click "OK."
- 8). Click "Next," and then click "Install." A progress bar appears showing the installation.
- 9). Place a check-mark next to "Launch BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse" after installation completes and click "Done." Eclipse launches along with the newly installed BlackBerry Java Plug-in.
