How to Calculate Weight Per Foot

1). Place the package on a table. Measure the package's depth, height and width in inches using a measuring tape. Place the end of the measuring tape on the furthest end of the package and pull it across, making sure to measure all points. Write each measurement on a piece of paper and multiply all three numbers together. This will equal the cubic inches of the package.
2). Divide the cubic inches of the package by 1,728, which is the number of cubic inches in a cubic foot. The total is the package's cubic feet.
3). Weigh the package, in pounds, on a scale. Divide the number by the package's cubic feet. The number will be the density of the package or the weight per cubic feet.
