How to Use Adobe Lightroom

    • 1). Install Lightroom by inserting your CD or DVD media into your computer drive. The install screen will appear. Enter your serial number when prompted by the installer.

    • 2). Open the Lightroom application by clicking on its icon on your desktop or by going to "Start," > "All Programs," > "Adobe," > "Lightroom."

    • 3). Import your photos by clicking on the file menu and choosing one of the available import options. You can choose to import photos from disk, device or catalog. Navigate to the location of your photos and select all the photos you want to import by holding down your "Control" key and clicking on them. Then click the button labeled "Choose." A dialog box will appear.

    • 4). Fill in any identifying information for these photos in the resulting dialog box. This can include copyright info, keywords or any other information you would like to add to this group of photos. You can also choose from a number of creative photo processing options, such as antique, sepia or grayscale to be applied to these photos as a batch. Click the "Import" button.

    • 5). Your photos will now be displayed as an album, with any processing options you chose in the previous step already applied. Choose individual photos by clicking on them. Select any processing options you wish to add to these photos, from the panels on the left and right side of the screen. You will immediately see the effects of your choices previewed in the resulting photos.

    • 6). When finished, click on the "File" menu and choose "Export." Next, choose the location you want your files exported to, the file type and whether you would like the original file overwritten or saved with a different name. Click "Export."
