Volare Restaurant in Chicago serves traditional Italian cuisine that has garnered favorable reviews by both locals and tourists, while car manufacturer Aston Martin recently launched a Volare sports-car concept.

    'In the Blue Painted Blue'

    • The Italian song "Nel blu dipinto di blu," or " In the Blue Painted Blue," is popularly referred to as "Volare." Performed by Italian legend Domenico Modugno, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958. It is the only song that was originally released in Italy to reach No. 1 in the United States as of February 2010.

    Volare Airlines

    • Volare Airlines was a discount airline service based in Italy's Milan-Malpensa International Airport. It filed for bankruptcy and stopped operations in November 2004. The tickets to the cancelled flights were never returned or refunded to customers.
