    • 1). Apply a layer of soap to the putter with a soft cloth. Rinse the putter in water and dry it, including all the wedges and nooks. Ensure that the cloth you use is soft to avoid scratching the surface of the putter.

    • 2). Rub a non-gel toothpaste onto the scratched area of the putter. Buff the scratches with a soft cloth to remove the toothpaste. Rinse and dry the putter.

    • 3). Apply a small amount of baby oil to a soft cloth. Polish the putter with the oil. This adds a protective layer to the putter's face.

    • 4). Mix a solution of equal parts water and vinegar inside a container big enough to rest the putter head in. Soak the putter head in the solution for a few minutes to remove rust.

    • 5). Rinse the putter with water. Dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
