    • 1). Lower the awning arms. Firmly grasp the awning arm and lift the handle on the side of the arm. Hold the arm tightly to prevent it from falling. Slowly lower the arm to its resting position. Repeat to lower the second arm.

    • 2). Locate the rafter knob. Turn it counterclockwise to loosen it. Release the rafter catch and slide the rafter down the arm to place it in its resting position. Repeat to lower the second rafter.

    • 3). Grasp the pull strap tightly and move the ratcheting mechanism to the "In" position. Hold the strap firmly to prevent the awning from quickly rewinding and striking the camper in a forceful manner. If the awning retracts quickly, it may prevent the strap from being properly rolled up with the awning and will make unwinding the awning more difficult.

    • 4). Place the hook on the end of the awning rod into the pull strap. Release the strap and use the awning rod to slowly rewind the awning. The awning should fit snugly against the side of the camper.

    • 5). Lock the handle release into the locked position. Ensure that the travel lock is secured and turn the rafter knob clockwise to secure the arm and rafter before moving the camper. Repeat to secure the other arm and rafter.
