Powermac G4 Specs
- The Power Mac G4 is equipped with 256 MB or 512 MB of PC 133 SDRAM. This computer has three DIMM slots that accept 128, 256 or 512 MB RAM chips, supporting a maximum of 1.5 GB of memory. This unit has a 7200 rpm, Ultra ATA hard disk that stores 40, 60 or 80 GB of information. The computer has three, 3.5-inch expansion slots for hard drives with support for up to three internal SCSI drives and two internal ATA drives. The system is capable of using both SCSI and ATA drives at the same time.
- The Power Mac G4 computer uses a G4 PowerPC processor that operates at 800 or 933 MHz. Dual G4 processors running at 1 GHz are also available for this model. The processor has either 256 KB of L2 cache or 2 MB of L3 DDR SDRAM cache for 933 MHz and 1 GHz chips. The system bus operates at 133 MHz with a data throughput over 1 GB per second. The processor features a floating-point unit that supports double-precision, single-cycle calculations and a Velocity Engine vector processing unit.
- Graphics card options for the Power Mac G4 include the NVDIDA GeForce4 MX or Ti card and the ATI Radeon 7500. The GeForce4 MX card has 64 MB of DDR SDRAM and supports resolutions up to 1,920 by 1,200 pixels while the Ti card has 128 MB of DDR SDRAM and a maximum resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels. The ATI Radeon 7500 contains 32 MB of DDR SDRAM with a maximum analog resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels and a maximum digital resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels.
- The Power Mac G4 features two USB ports on the system and two on the keyboard. The computer has two 400-mbps FireWire ports and four full-length, 64-bit PCI slots that operate at 33 MHz. An AGP 4X slot provides space for the graphics card. This model supports USB digital audio peripherals such as speakers, synthesizers and MIDI devices. The computer has a headphone/line out mini-jack, an Apple mini-jack and a built-in speaker. This model is equipped with a 56K modem, a RJ-45 Ethernet connector and an Apple Pro keyboard and mouse.
