The Three Blacksmiths statue is near Stockmann's Department Store, the largest and most prestigious department store in Finland. According to a local Helsinki legend, the three blacksmiths will strike the anvil if a virgin walks by. It is interesting that the same story is told about a bulldog statue in Athens, Georgia where I went to college at the University of Georgia. Locals there say that the bulldog will turn his head and look at any virgin that walks by!

I wonder if that folktale applies to all localities!
