Performance Upgrades for the Range Rover Supercharged

    Exhaust

    • Improving the exhaust system of the Range Rover Supercharged can improve performance by allowing the engine to more efficiently remove waste gases. Expelling these gases requires energy from the engine's pistons, and by allowing the gases to escape more easily, less energy is wasted. This means greater horsepower and torque. One example of a performance exhaust system for the Land Rover Range Rover supercharged is the cat-back system from Borla (part 140177). As of 2010, this particular model exhaust system costs about $1,200.

    Brakes

    • Upgrading the engine in terms of horsepower, torque, and acceleration usually means having to upgrade the brakes as well. Performance driving can heat normal brake pads which decreases brake friction and can even damage the vehicle. Slotted and drilled rotors help remove dirt, water, and heat from the brake pads, leading to better stopping power with performance driving and off-road driving. EBC makes slotted rotors that work best with high friction brakes. Their line of high friction brakes includes "Yellow Stuff," "Green Stuff," and "Red Stuff." All have different characteristics depending on the type of driving expected.

    Steel Brake Lines

    • Aggressive off-road driving with a Range Rover can shred the brake lines of the vehicle. This will result in a loss of braking ability and can be extremely dangerous. A way to reduce this possibility is to upgrade the brake lines to steel braided lines. Steel lines are tougher and more difficult to tear than the stock lines. Steel braided brake lines for the Range Rover Supercharged are available from Paragon Performance.
