1). Find your SAT scores for the SAT I test. Add the values of your verbal and math scores for a total score on the test.
2). Ask your high school for your ranking in your graduating class. You will also need to know the size of your graduating class.
3). Look up your converted rank score (CRS). The CRS modifies your actual rank in your class based on the size of your graduating class and your standing in the class. For example, if you graduated in a class of 351 people and had a ranking of 14, look up the value on the CRS table for a class size of 351 people. The modified score is 69.
4). Calculate your AI using the equation, AI = (SAT / 10) + CRS. For example, assume that you scored 600 on the verbal part and 650 on the math part of the SAT and you ranked 14th out of 351 students: AI = [(600 + 650) / 10] + 69, which equals 1250 / 10 + 69, or 125 + 69 = 194.
