- 1). Raise your hood and remove the negative battery cable using the socket set to loosen it. The battery is located on the right-hand side of the engine compartment of your Acura Legend.
- 2). Open the driver's door and slide your driver seat back as far as it will go. This will allow you room to work.
- 3). Find the brake light switch. On your Acura Legend, it is located far underneath the dashboard, mounted down near the brake pedal. You will not have a lot of room to work with.
- 4). Remove the mounting screws with a screwdriver and unplug the wires that connect to the back of the switch. The actual switch on your Legend will have two tabs on either side you will need to depress while pulling it free. Also, the Acura mounting screws will be Phillips head, so you'll want to use a Phillips head screwdriver
- 5). Plug the wire connector into the back of the new stoplight switch. Depress the two tabs on your Legend's switch and push it forward until you hear it click into place. Also replace the retaining screws that hold it in place.
- 6). Replace your negative battery cable.
