How to Get Perspiration Stains Out of Clothes
- 1). Mix baking soda and water into a paste and gently work it into the stained area with a toothbrush. Allow the paste to sit for at least 10 minutes before laundering.
- 2). Soak the garment in cool water for 15 minutes. Apply a liquid detergent to the stain. Use a detergent that contains no bleach and boasts protein stain capabilities. Rub the detergent into the stain with a clean cloth and launder the garment immediately. If the smell lingers after the wash, rub ammonia onto the stain and wash again.
- 3). Crush two aspirins into a powder and dissolve them with a 1/2 cup of warm water. Saturate the stained area with the solution and allow it to soak for two or three hours before laundering.
- 4). Dampen the affected area with clean water and sprinkle meat tenderizer onto the stain. Work the meat tenderizer into the stain with a clean cloth or toothbrush, then launder as usual.
- 5). Add 4 tbsp. of table salt to 1 qt. of hot water and stir to dissolve it. Use a clean cloth or sponge dipped into the hot salty water and wipe the stained area until the stain is gone.
