Hi this is Elise McMahon with expertvillage.com and this video series we are going to talking about flea and tick prevention. If you have found fleas or ticks on your dog even if you are going to go out and do some oral or topical preventive or insecticide that is going to kill the ticks and fleas that are on your dog currently you go to consider this it is possible that the fleas and ticks might of jump off in your house and is going to be reproducing in your house. So what do you do? Probably one of the best method is getting a flea bomb. You can buy this is a package of three flea bombs in one package and you can look careful to make sure what you are going to targeting. This one kills fleas, ticks, flea eggs, and larva. You want to make sure that if you are going to be doing something like this you are not just killing the fleas that are present but you would also be killing the eggs and the larva. One of the reasons for this is because the flea eggs can actually last for a very long time in your house. Another thing you want to do is to very throughly is vacuum all surfaces if you have hardwood floors or tile surfaces in any area it is probably a good idea to wash them and to scrub them down after you have vacuum them. But vacuum all of the rugs and wash, clean the dogs bedding. So when you are going to use something like a home foggier there is a couple of things you want to keep in mind no animals and no pets or humans can be in the house when you are setting these of. Usually it says on the back how long people should leave the house for it is stay for 4 to 6 hours just assume that you are going to set it off and you are not going to go in the house. You want to cover all food items. Generally just protect everything because essentially what you are doing with this is you are spraying insecticide into the environment. So you just want to make sure that everything that you might be using is covered, covered are close but this is probably the best way of do it yourself method in taking care of any potential flea or tick infestation in your home.
