How to Get a Copy of a Marriage License in Lancaster, California
- 1). Download a copy of the Application for a Public Marriage Record and the Certificate of Identity Form from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's website. (See Resources)
- 2). Enter the required information on both forms and seek out a notary public to notarize your Certificate of Identity Form. You must provide photo identification to the notary before he or she is authorized to sign your form.
- 3). Mail your application and identity form, along with a check for $14 to:

- 2). Request a copy of your marriage license from one of the clerks at the Registrar's office. Bring valid photo identification with you.
- 3). Pay the $14 fee by cash, credit card or money order. If your marriage license was issued after 1995, you will receive your copy that day. If your marriage license was issued before 1995, it will take up to 20 business days to issue a copy to you.
