How to Make Cards & Postcards
- 1). Select a four-by-six inch photo from your personal photo collection on your computer or one from the Internet to use for your card. With most general photo editing software, you can re-size any photo to to fit this dimension.
- 2). Print the photo out on glossy printing paper and do not touch the paper for five minutes. When printing full color photos on glossy paper, the ink stays wet to the touch for several minutes and will smudge if touched.
- 3). Use the scissors to cut the photo out of the paper. If you are making a postcard, cut around the perimeter of the photo. If you car making a card, fold the paper in half along the long edge of the photo and then proceed to cut around the picture. Do not cut the folded edge of the paper when making a card.
- 4). Write a note on the inside of the card or back of the postcard. If making a post card draw a line halfway down the center of the card. The right half of the card will be used to fill out the recipient's address and to stick the stamp for postage.
- 5). Address your card or postcard and put a stamp on for postage. If you're sending a card, put the card in an envelope beforehand.
