How to Clean a Beretta 22 Pistol
- 1). Remove the magazine with the magazine-release button.
- 2). Check to make sure there is no round in the chamber. If there is one, pull the slide rearward until the round is ejected.

- 4). Pull the slide rearward and engage the catch to lock the slide open.
- 5). Press the barrel-nut lock button and unscrew the barrel nut to remove the barrel.
- 6). Release the slide catch and allow the slide to move forward again.
- 1). Apply oil to the walls of the magazine box. After oiling, dry with a lint-free cotton patch; do not leave moisture inside the magazine.
- 2). Scrub the inside of the barrel with a .22-caliber bore brush sprayed with gun oil and inserted from the chamber. Dry with as many lint-free cotton patches as it takes before the patches begin emerging clean. Apply oil lightly to the threaded barrel stud.
- 3). Apply oil lightly to the recoil spring, the firing-pin guide, the firing-pin spring, and the firing pin.
- 4). Clean the slide with gun oil and a high-quality cleaning brush, and dry with a lint-free cotton patch.
