    Cleaning

    • 1). Apply oil to the walls of the magazine box. After oiling, dry with a lint-free cotton patch; do not leave moisture inside the magazine.

    • 2). Scrub the inside of the barrel with a .22-caliber bore brush sprayed with gun oil and inserted from the chamber. Dry with as many lint-free cotton patches as it takes before the patches begin emerging clean. Apply oil lightly to the threaded barrel stud.

    • 3). Apply oil lightly to the recoil spring, the firing-pin guide, the firing-pin spring, and the firing pin.

    • 4). Clean the slide with gun oil and a high-quality cleaning brush, and dry with a lint-free cotton patch.
