Fashion Origami, by Eva Steele-Saccio, is sure to appeal to any girl who loves fashion and dressing up. You have to admit, this covers most girls! The projects are designed for ages 8 and older; kids younger than this might get easily frustrated trying to fold some of the fashions in this book.
This book shares step-by-step directions for folding colorful paper into a variety of fashion favorites. Learn how to fold everything from coats and pajamas to skirts and dresses.
Once you have the outfits folded, you can create accessories like purses, shoes, and fans.
Before you get to the projects in this book, you will definitely want to read through the page full of helpful hints and the descriptions they provide explaining the meaning of the symbols you will find used in the book. You will also find two pages full of embellishment ideas to help spark your creativity.
If you are familiar with the Kutz line of activity books, you will know that they not only offer great instruction but also come packaged with supplies you need to make the crafts in the book. To quote the Kutz folks, their how-to books are "designed for doing, not just reading." Perhaps you can guess what supplies are provided with this book!
You are supplied with plenty of pieces of colorfully designed paper to make several of each project in this book - 55 larger sheets of paper (6" x 6") along with 25 pieces of smaller paper (2" x 2"). These are stored in a pocket at the back of the book. You also get plenty of sequins and ribbon to embellish your fashions along with the glue you need to attach them.
There is also a page of cut-outs, such as belts, flowers, and bows, you can use to add some flair to your outfits. All you need to complete the projects in this book are some scissors!
I think the projects featured in this book, along with the supplies, will inspire any girl to try their hand at fashion design. The easy-to-understand directions will get them folding in no time at all.
