Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are two Tennessee towns serving as the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Their wonderful location, exciting entertainment options and natural ambiance create a world where families can create memories that will last for years to come, all while enjoying a great vacation.
Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, is host to a number of festivals and events, including the famous KidsFest, which opened June 13 and runs through August 3.
This year's KidsFest features Creature Adventures, starring the Kratt Brothers, all of their amazing animal friends.
Plus, the Veggie Tales Live Show is back, along with additions like Dolly's Imagination Playhouse and Kamp KidsFest.
This is certainly one place the kids will want to be this summer! Belle Island Village, the newest development to hit Pigeon Forge, also made some exciting announcements in June, including more details regarding the Darrell Waltrip Racing Experience.
At Darrell Waltrip's Racing Experience you will truly understand all aspects of the racing world from the mind-numbing force of going around a turn at more than 200 mph to attempting to change tires in less than 15 seconds to being inside the announcer's booth calling a race.
Opening in the fall of 2008, this attraction seems like a sure bet for any NASCAR Fan! In June, Dollywood was also honored by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) with two HeartBeat Awards.
Their shows, Dreamland Drive-In and The Great American Country Show, received the Heartbeat Awards due to their superior overall ability in reaching the hearts of its audience.
These awards are just two more reasons why Dollywood is home to more than two million visitors each year.
And new this year, families can now save 20% with the new Dollywood Vacation Packages, complete with area Pigeon Forge lodging of your choice.
Gatlinburg began its 3rd annual run of Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales June 13, and it will continue through August 9.
Tunes & Tales is a summer-long street performance event featuring costumed musical performers, storytellers and artisans portraying time periods as far back as 1800.
The Event is a testament to Gatlinburg's desire to showcase Smoky Mountain heritage while also catering to modern day families.
Of course, a summer trip to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg isn't complete without a journey into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
There's always a trail to hike, scenic view to seek, craftsmen's displays or historic lectures to take advantage of.
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are a winning combination of outdoor and indoor fun.
Whether you're smoking your tires at the new Darrell Waltrip Experience or rolling (up hill) into some fun at Dollywood, these Tennessee Towns guarantee a good time!
