List of Summer Plants
- The best thing about summer is the glory of blooming flowers. Regardless, of the type of garden soil you have there are plants that will grow in it. Summer plants are available in a variety of types and colors and there is nothing like a touch of sun to bring out the blooms.
- Hostas may not be known for their color but are famous for their foliage. They have tiny flowers in a variety of colors but it's the leaves that catch the eye. The white, yellow and green striped leaves that grow in small mounds are sure to bring your garden alive. They grow wider, rather than tall, and prefer partial shade. They are a great find for the summer garden when you want to enjoy color and cover the garden space as well.
- Everyone loves the black-eyed Susan. It may actually be one of the most well-known flowers after the rose and tulip. They have a ray of petals that resemble the sun, and a black cone in the middle, which gives the flower its name. This is a great choice for any summer garden as they grow fast and, basically, take care of themselves.
- The morning glory is another flower that is vine like in nature. It has a spiral shaped flower, with heart shaped leaves and can be in a variety of colors. Most people are partial to the blue flower with white center but there are other colors like, red, green and yellow available. These flowers are usually grown at the border and near the mail box as they have a dramatic appeal but can be easily contained.
