Tips to Prepare You For Your First Boudoir Photography Session
You don't know how to pose, you never look good in photos, you're nervous in front of the camera, you have stretch marks...
stop! Relax and trust your photographer.
As trained professionals, it is our job to make you look fabulous in the final product.
There are a few things you should avoid to help the shoot go smoothly.
No tanning.
Absolutely do not tan before your photo shoot.
Fake tans and tan lines will look bad in your photos.
Post processing can't always fix bad tan lines.
Your skin will look beautiful in the final product, you don't need a tan.
Don't worry about a breakout.
If you have a breakout before your shoot, don't panic and think you need to cancel.
A great make up artist and post processing can take care of these minor issues.
Don't come in hungry.
Most photography shoots last a few hours.
Do have a light meal before your session so you don't get hungry.
Don't wear tight clothes.
A few hours in that tight top is going to leave lines and marks on your skin.
Wear something loose fitting in the hours leading up to your scheduled shoot.
Don't bring anyone to your shoot.
Husbands, boyfriends and children tend to get in the way and cause distractions.
Most studios do not offer a waiting area.
In most instances, bringing a girlfriend with you for support is allowed, but only one.
Don't forget your nails.
Your fingernails and toenails will show up in your photos.
It is a great idea to schedule a manicure the day before your shoot.
Don't neglect your hair.
A few days before your shoot you should get your hair color touched up so you will look your best.
This should be done at least two days before your shoot.
Don't wear tiny jewelry.
Small jewelry tends to fade into the photo and sometimes causes a distraction while big, chunky, sparkly jewelry looks best.
Don't wear glitter.
Glitter does not photograph well at all.
In fact, it often shows up as little white spots and can ruin a great photo.
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
If you want full nude photos, just let your photographer know.
Is there a certain pose, prop or outfit that will excite your husband? Tell your photographer, it can be done so that you have some special shots just for him.
Just relax.
Boudoir shoots are fun and you are going to have a great time.
Don't worry about your imperfections, no one is perfect and men love us anyway.
Proper posing and lighting done by your photographer will hide your worst assets and highlight your best.
In the end, you'll have a great set of photographs that will make you feel glamorous and sexy.
