How to Dry Oranges in a Dehydrator

    • 1). Buy ripe oranges without bruises or mold.

    • 2). Wash the oranges under cold, running water

    • 3). Cut oranges into thin slices about 1/4-inch thick. Leave the peel on.

    • 4). Place the orange slices in one layer on the dehydrator trays.

    • 5). Place the trays inside the machine and turn the temperature to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 6). Let the oranges dry for about 48 hours.

    • 7). Turn the orange slices over every four to six hours so the sides dry evenly.

    • 8). Turn off dehydrator after 45 hours and check the orange slices. Make certain the slices are completely dry and brittle.

    • 9). Put the orange slices in an airtight, plastic freezer bag. Store oranges in the freezer or a dark, cool place.
