How to Use Macron on an iMac
- 1). Click on the Apple icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen. Select "System Preferences" from the pop-up menu. A new window will appear.
- 2). Click on the "International" icon, which is a flag, in the "Personal" menu at the top of the window. The International menu will appear.
- 3). Click on the "Input" button on "Input Menu" button on the right. A list of languages will appear underneath. Scroll down the list and check the box to the left of the "Extended US Keyboard" option. Close the window.
- 4). Click on the "Flag" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Select "US Extended" from the pop-up menu.
- 5). Press the "Option" key and the "A" key on the keyboard simultaneously, then type the letter that you want the macron to appear above. For example, if you press "Option" and "A," then type "E," the symbol "e" will appear.
