    • 1). Remove the magazine from the High Point C9. Pull back the slide to inspect the firing chamber for ammunition.

    • 2). Clean the inside of the C9 barrel with a cleaning rod, slotted tip and cleaning patch. Saturate a patch with powder solvent, and run it down and back out the barrel. Change the patch and run it in and out of the barrel. Continue to change patches until a patch runs clean.

    • 3). Place the small-tube-nozzle on a can of solvent spray. Pull back the slide and lock it in place. Spray the solvent into the firing chamber. Use a rag and patches to wipe the chamber clean.

    • 4). Place a clean patch in the slotted tip on the cleaning rod. Apply gun oil to the patch, and run in down and back out the barrel.

    • 5). Spray gun oil into the firing chamber. Apply only a short burst of oil, as a little goes a long way. Avoid excess oil as this potentially interferes with operation.

    • 6). Place a drop of oil on both sides of the frame slide. Release the slide, and allow it to move forward on the frame. Pull the slide back and forth to spread the oil evenly.
