- 1). Wash your face with warm water.
- 2). Apply shaving cream to your face by first putting it in your hands, and then spreading it to all the places where your face grows hair.
- 3). Use short, gentle strokes with the razor to remove hair from your face. Start at the sides of your face and work your way to the areas around your mouth, with downward strokes. If you notice your hair is growing in a direction other than downward, shave in that direction in those areas. Apply enough pressure to remove the shaving cream and hair, but not so much that you are hurting your skin.
- 4). Rinse off your razor after every couple of strokes to prevent buildup on the razor.
- 5). Continue shaving until you have covered your entire face.
- 6). Rinse the remaining shaving cream off with cold water.
