How to Put on Bicycle Grips
- 1). Wet the ends of the handlebars. The water will lubricate your grips as you slide them on and facilitate the process.
- 2). Slide the grips onto the handlebars. If they offer any resistance, twist the grips as you slide them on.
- 3). Wait an hour for the grips to dry. This will allow them to adhere firmly to the handlebars.
- 1). Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid soap with 1 quart of water until foamy. The soap acts as a lubricant that's superior to water alone, and you'll need better lubricant for longer foam grips.
- 2). Apply the soapy water to the handlebars. Be liberal in the application, as the foam grips will absorb the water as you go.
- 3). Push the grips onto the handlebars, twisting them when they get stuck.
- 4). Allow the grips to dry for at least 24 hours before riding your bike.
