- 1). Touch any save point and press "X." Select "Board Airship" and press "X."
- 2). Speak to Cid, the bald man at the helm of the airship. Select "List" and highlight "Calm Lands." Press "X" to land there.
- 3). Move directly south of the hut and speak with the person riding the yellow chocobo. Highlight "Let me train one" and press "X."
- 4). Highlight "Wobbly Chocobo" and press "X."
- 5). Press left and right on the directional pad to keep the chocobo from heading outside of the boundaries of the course. Press the directional button that is opposite to the way the chocobo is running. For example, press left when it faces right and vice versa.
- 6). Complete "Wobbly Chocobo" to earn an elixir and unlock "Dodger Chocobo." Highlight the game and press "X."
- 7). Press the directional pad left and right as the balls come at the chocobo to dodge. Balls fly in groups of three, so keep heading in one direction to avoid them. Complete the course in under 16.8 seconds to receive a Level 1 Key Sphere and unlock "Hyper Dodger Chocobo."
- 8). Highlight "Hyper Dodger Chocobo" and press "X." Press the left and right directional buttons to zigzag between both ends of the course and avoid the homing birds and groups of balls. Dodge right as the ball arcs above the screen.
- 9). Complete "Hyper Dodger Chocobo" in under 18.5 seconds to receive a Level 2 Key Sphere and unlock "Catcher Chocobo." Choose "Catcher Chocobo" and press "X."

Press the right and left directional buttons to move the chocobo around the course. Direct the chocobo into every red balloon you can find. Each red balloon takes two seconds off of your time at the end of the race. - 11
Dodge the birds that swoop down at the chocobo. If you hit a bird, you will receive a two second penalty at the end of the race. - 12
Complete the race with a lower time than your opponent to win a Level 3 Key Sphere. This ends your chocobo training.
