Adirondack Chairs Are a Classic Choice
I can't tell you how many seasons I've just bought a couple of those plastic chairs to set out in the garden and by the pool because I needed something quick to seat the guests I was inviting over.
I spend so much time sprucing up the yard and tending to the plant beds and the yard looks great.
However when I step out into the yard with my guests and offer then a seat in one of those plastic things, I really regret not putting more time and thought into the seating aspect of my yard.
I have decided I am going to spice up the flavor of yard and learn how to make wooden Adirondack chairs with a table.
I may even display these wooden beauties along with a coffee table or pedestal planters.
I think Adirondack chairs are a classic choice while being fashionable and look luxurious in your outdoor space.
Remarkably, Adirondack chairs are easy to build.
The pieces are very basic and with a few simple steps and they can be assembled and ready for enjoying.
The original design of the Adirondack chair was made out of only eleven pieces of wood, cut from one single board.
The chair had a straight back and seat.
This allowed the chair to set at a slant so it could sit better on the steep mountain inclines of the area.
Wide armrests became one of the trademarks of the Adirondack chair.
This chair also has another name.
It is sometimes referred to as "Muskoka chair", a Canadian name.
It comes from the Muskoka cottage and outdoor recreation region in Ontario.
While the Adirondack chairs themselves possess much character, you could add additional flavor by staining them, adding a luscious coat of rich paint or adding a mural to it's back.
The only restriction here would be your imagination.
Pillows would also be a nice touch, but make sure you use a weather durable fabric that will sustain the elements.
Why not keep the design of the Adirondack chair evident throughout all your furniture.
You could make an Adirondack love seat, add a leg rest to your Adirondack chair and also a coffee or side table.
A uniform set like this would really set your patio or deck area apart.
I am really looking forward to constructing my new Adirondack backyard furniture.
