Why Not Turn Your Love For Painting Into A Career?
Whether faux finishes, painting murals, painting canvas, furniture, or fabric...
you need to decide what is most enjoyable to you.
Not sure how? Try this exercise: Imagine it's five years from now and everything has gone as perfectly as it could.
Take a typical day in your 'dream life' and write it down from beginning to end, including all the details.
Once you're done, you'll have a pretty acurate view of what your dream career would be like.
Tip#2: Decide to not believe the 'starving artist' myth.
Decide to change any negative beliefs about being successful with painting, whether you think you'll be poor, insane, or on drugs: Tip # 3: Believe it's possible.
People have done it.
People are doing it.
Yes, it is possible.
Tip # 4: Believe you're good enough.
Tip # 5: Believe you'll succeed.
Tip # 6: Find someone who's 'made it' already, and become friends with them, or follow them in the news.
Pick a mentor or role model, someone who's achieved what you want to achieve, and look at what they did to succeed.
Tip #7: Get some support.
Find some friends that are successful.
Find some friends that believe in you, your talent, your ability to succeed.
Join a painters group or club.
Join a painting class and meet people who do what you do.
Having support will go along way towards helping you to stay encouraged and motivated to reach your goal of turning painting into a real career.
Tip #8: Write a clear goal for yourself.
If you want to be a millionaire artist that does custom paintings for tens of thousands of dollars, write that goal! Tip #9: Post your goal where you'll see it often.
Tip #10: Use affirmations.
"I give thanks that I am now earning X per month as a painter.
I do what I love for a living and make great money at it.
" Speak out your affirmations daily, preferably for at least 15 minutes a day, but at the very least, speak them when you wake up and when you go to bed.
Tip #11: Take action.
Achieving your goal of having your dream career as a painter will require some action on your part.
If you're going to have your own business, write up a business plan.
Read about how to market yourself.
Learn what you need to know to be a success.
You are 100% responsible for yourself, your life, your career and your happiness.
No excuses.
You are not a victim.
You CAN do it.
I wish you much success!
