Taiyo Matsumoto's Black and White, also known and Tekkon Kinkreet follows the exploits of two orphans Kuro (Black) and Shiro (White), their adventures and their struggles as they attempt to find their way in a corrupt city run by gangsters and thugs.
As described by curator Kiyoshi Kusumi, "Matsumoto's manga include depictions of intense violence, but these are counter-balanced by a sense of charity toward the small and weak, and a strong resentment of those who suppress them."
