How to Wrap a Greenhouse
- 1). Take measurements of the greenhouse before buying the bubble wrap. Obtaining the dimensions of the greenhouse will let you know exactly how much bubble wrap to buy. Don't forget to measure the roof of the greenhouse in addition to the ends and sides. The full insulating effect of the wrapping process will be wasted if the roof is not wrapped as well.
- 2). Go around the greenhouse, beginning with the sides, and administer the bubble wrap to the greenhouse walls using either the drawing pins or lightly hammering nails into the frame. If the top of the greenhouse is too high to reach by hand, use a ladder to gain access to the unreachable areas. Keep the bubble wrap tight to ensure good insulation.
- 3). Insulate the roof of the greenhouse by fastening the bubble wrap to its ridge and spreading it down the glazing bars. Again, if the roof of the greenhouse is too tall to reach standing up, use a stepladder. Most greenhouses are not tall enough to require the use of a large ladder.
- 4). Measure the dimensions of windows and vents, then cut out the bubble wrap and wrap the bubble wrap around them securely yet in a way which allows all windows and vents to be opened easily.
