Computer Research - Know the Product You Plan to Promote
I don't mean research for development but the research concerning the product or products you plan to promote.
Whenever I plan on promoting a product I do some product research.
Reading Websites gives you so much contradictory information.
Especially the affiliate websites.
On Websites that promote the same product you promote or something very similar, all you see is praise but often not much relevant product information.
On a competitive website the author might have run into just a tiny bit of negative information about your product, take it out of context and trash the product convincingly.
Of course there are many Websites that do give relevant information and don't use hype.
Most Affiliates are honest and fair but not all of them.
You can also go and find the results of various studies that were done on your product.
Even then you can run into different information that's contradictory.
In general, whenever my bank account and/or credit card allow it, I like to buy the product and try it for myself.
I'm in the health niche, mainly interested in arthritis pain relief products.
Quite often the natural arthritis relief products also have a positive effect on other conditions and diseases.
These natural pain killers are very anti inflammatory and most of our illnesses are associated with inflammations.
I have severe arthritis in various joints.
This makes it easier for me to see how a product actually affects arthritis.
There are 2 products I have a keen interest in.
Green-lipped mussel oil and fish oil.
They seem so similar but the fish oil is considerably less expensive than the mussel oil Nevertheless they both claim very similar benefits.
One way I compare is by finding out what exactly the ingredients in each product are and the amount of the ingredients.
This is usually expressed in mgs.
I think it's important to have a high quantity of DHA in these products and also EPA in a lesser amount.
I was really amazed at one comparison I did and found one particular brand of fish oil seemed to have higher quantities of DHA in it then the green-lipped mussel oil I looked at.
Computer research might have its benefits but I think practical experience gives better answers about the effectiveness of the products.
Changing to promoting the other product would put a dent in the commissions.
Well, I do like making money...
but not at the expense of my customers.
