How to Get Music From an iPod Onto a Generation Four Computer

    CopyTrans

    • 1). Download and install CopyTrans from the Resource section of this guide. Plug your iPod into your computer with its USB cable. Wait as your computer installs the necessary drivers for the iPod.

    • 2). Open CopyTrans and wait for the home menu to load. Click on "Manual Backup" and then click on the "Select iPod" drop-down menu. Select your iPod from the list to display its contents.

    • 3). Select all of the music that you would like to copy to your computer. Click on "Backup to folder" to bring up a new window. Click on the "Destination" space and select a place to save the iPod contents.

    • 4). Click on the "Start Backup" button to copy the contents of your iPod to the directory that you specified in Step 3. Wait for a confirmation box to appear that tells you the copy process is complete.

    Ephpod

    • 1). Download and install "Ephpod" from the Resource section of this guide. Plug your iPod into your computer and open Ephpod.

    • 2). Select your iPod from the list of available drives and allow the iPod to load its contents into the program. Highlight the files that you want to copy to your computer.

    • 3). Right-click one of the files and click "Copy to directory" to bring up a new window. Select a place to save the files, and then click "Save" to verify the location in Ephpod.

    • 4). Wait as the files are backed up onto your computer. Do not navigate away from Ephpod before the process is complete.
