My name is Hakeem Clark and I'm here to show you some drills that increase foot speed for quarterbacks. Foot speed is very important for quarterbacks. Quick feet allow them to get in and out of the pocket when under pressure and escape all the way down the field without taking any big hits. I will show you two great variations of ladder drills that are great specifically for quarterbacks. The first ladder drill is just a side tap. All you are doing is tapping your left foot into the ladder. You want to get a good rhythm to it so touch, in, out, touch, in, out. That's one foot in, two steps out. The next drill is a forwards touch. It's the same rhythm as a side touch, you are going forwards and back in, so one foot comes in and then two steps out, one and two and one and two and one and two. That's going to be your rhythm. First you start slow then slowly speed up. These exercises are great for all football players but specifically for quarterbacks to really decrease the overall ground contact time and help them be quick on their feet.
