• The eMachines T2642 is a desktop computer tower. Although this model has been discontinued and is no longer available from eMachines, you may find it offered for sale used. Originally, the monitor for this unit was sold separately so you will need to purchase a monitor or use one that you already have. As with most all desktop PCs, this computer is upgradeable as to both hardware and software.
  
  

Hardware and Memory

• The eMachines T2642 has a standard 40 GB hard drive and a CD-RW optical drive. The processor is a 2.6 GHz Intel Celeron processor. This computer comes with 256 MB of on-board RAM, which is expandable with compatible DDR memory sticks. It also has a standard Intel Extreme Graphics video card and an integrated audio card.
  
  

Connectivity

• The eMachines T2642 does not have built-in wireless capability. It does come with an Ethernet card and a 56K modem. Expansion slots allow for the addition of various network connectivity cards as needed. This model has six USB ports, two located on the front of the tower for easy access, and the other four USB ports are located on the back of the tower with the other input jacks.
  
  

Physical Characteristics

• The eMachines T2642 measures 14.25 inches high, 16 inches deep, and 7.25 inches wide. The computer shipped with a standard keyboard, mouse and basic speakers. It has two expansion slots on the motherboard and one extra drive bay allowing the user to further customize the computer. The T2642 originally shipped with Windows XP Home but did not include Microsoft Office.
