The original Morris, the 9 Lives Spokescat, was found in an Illinois animal shelter in 1968, scheduled to be "put down." Someone saw real potential in the eyes of this cat and contacted famed Animal Handler Bob Martwick. Bob saw the same promise and adopted Morris just 20 minutes before his scheduled death.
It didn't take the 9 Lives folks long to form the same conclusion, when Martwick pitched his idea and Morris, the 9 Lives Spokescat has graced the cover of every 9 Lives product since then
