How to Cut a Dryer Vent in a Brick Wall
- 1). Lay out the location of the center of your dryer vent opening inside the home. Insert a 1/4-inch drill bit into your drill and drill through the plywood layer. Insert a 1/4-inch hammer drill bit into your hammer drill and drill the rest of the way through the brick.
- 2). Draw a 4 1/4-inch circle on the brick outside, using the hole as your center point.
- 3). Drill holes on the edge of the circle spaced 1/2 inch apart all the way around with your hammer drill.
- 4). Place your chisel on the line and strike it with your hammer. Work your way around the circle and eventually the 4 1/4-inch brick circle will fall out. Clean up the hole with your hammer and chisel.
- 5). Insert your 4 1/4-inch hole saw into your drill and finish drilling through into the inside of the home.
