How to Make Pilgrim Hats for Kids
- 1). Measure the child's head with a cloth tape measure.
- 2). Cut a panel from black construction paper. The length should be the length of the child's head plus 1 inch. The width should be 2 inches.
- 3). Draw and cut out a triangle from the black construction paper with an 8-inch base. Cut the top of the triangle off about 2 inches from the top.
- 4). Glue the paper triangle to the middle of the long strip of paper.
- 5). Draw a 1 and 1/2-by-1-inch square on the yellow construction paper. Draw a smaller square inside it. The smaller square should be 1-inch-by-1/2 inch. Cut the large square out, then cut the smaller square out. Glue the square to the hat, 3 inches from the bottom.
- 6). Bend the long strip of paper and tape the ends together.
