Holidays are a time of great stress and joy.
If you are planning to host a get together over the holidays you can rest easy because with some simple event planning, it can be a snap.
The secret to successful party of any kind is to have a plan! Every successful event started with a good plan.
Holiday get togethers have a purpose and everyone has a busy schedule especially at this time of the year.
Your guests will need to know what time to be there, how to dress, if there will be food, if should they bring something and what's going on.
Careful planning makes sure that each phase of the event runs smoothly and you should be able to relax and enjoy the company of your guests as well as the party.
The event should flow naturally from the beginning.
1.
Enlist Recruitments- You will be pleased to know that others will be happy to help, but you will need to provide them with specific jobs and follow up to make sure things are being done.
2.
Time of Day-Having your party in the afternoon can save you and your guests' money.
A lunch menu is lighter and there will be a lot less alcohol drinking in the afternoon.
3.
Get started on time-This is one of the most important parts of successful party planning.
If your party starts at 2, everything should be ready then.
4.
Introductions-Put everyone at ease and get conversations started by offering some refreshments or playing games.
Make sure you have appropriate prizes and various party favors for all guests to choose from.
5.
Communication-Let your guests know in advance what the next phase of the party will be.
6.
Checklist-Allow sufficient time for each item on your list and keep things flowing so everyone can go home.
It is OK to make the party last longer for people who want to stay, but be sure to wrap up the main events for those that need to leave so they do not miss anything.
About 2 hours should be sufficient time for any special event.
Planning events and parties around the holidays can be a little more complicated because most people are attending many different gatherings.
Following a good plan for the event will ensure that everyone has a good time and no detail is left out.
Family traditions can help plan and save money if you are planning a personal or family holiday event.
