Problems With Microsoft Sync Services
- Microsoft Sync is a technology that is used on a number of different devices, ranging from cellular phones and computers to voice-activated commands in cars. Though Microsoft Sync is typically a very robust platform, there are always a few problems that may occur.
- Sometimes all the Entourage messages do not index or support syncing events with the iCal program, which can lead to disorganization and missed appointments. Correct this by installing the newest version of the operating system for the computer, then restart the computer as well as Entourage and the sync program. Sometimes all the Entourage messages will then be listed in a file named "Other," which should either be renamed or manually divided into separate folders. This often occurs due to an older operating system; the remedy is typically to upgrade the operating system.
- Sometimes all the contacts in Entourage are deleted through Sync services when using an Apple computer, but this is not necessarily the fault of the Microsoft Sync service, but rather the user or the computer itself. When the Microsoft Sync Service tries to sync with the address book, it sometimes erases all addresses. This is a glitch in Apple computer syncing services, not Microsoft Sync or Entourage, according to The Entourage Help Page.
- Mobile devices sometimes have problems syncing with Microsoft Sync services. This is also due to an operating system that has not been updated, on either the mobile phone or the computer you are trying to sync it with. Updating the operating system typically corrects this problem.
