Office and Road Rage - A Growing Phenomena

103 8
Somewhere within the human mind, there is a knowing that something is missing.
The frustration of not being able to pinpoint what the problem is comes out as anger, rage, depression, drugs, addictions in various forms and an unhappy population.
It is time to seek and restore, that which is missing.
The world has escalated stressful lives in the world.
We are living in an era of forgotten ethics and morals.
We have become a world community enslaved by Corporate World enticing us with subliminal advertising, inane television programs, movies that label violence as action films and give us sports where the major players earn more than a scientist who researches ways to save human lives.
There are ways to change our minds from enslavement to freedom.
There are avenues to move from mental stress, which brings forth illnesses and misery often resulting in office and road rage.
Having grown up during the Great Depression, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and the wars going on in the Middle East, I have had multiple opportunities to be stressed.
In my forthcoming book Awakening the Genie Within, I share my experiences and tools I used without being under the care of a psychologist or psychiatrist.
I was fortunate in that I developed from childhood in the midst of abuse, a set of ethics and morals.
It has taken me many years to fully bring these out and live by them.
There were times when these were dulled.
There are questions each of us must ask our self.
Do I take self-responsibility for my actions, my words and my life, or do I blame others? This is important and lays the foundation for climbing out of the abyss of depression, rage, lack of self worth and misery.
When we were very little, we were potty-trained and it was the first step in self-responsibility followed by learning how to feed and dress our self.
Somewhere in our growing up years, either we were not taught that we are responsible for all of our thoughts and all the words we speak, or we simply forgot this aspect of maturity.
There was a period in my life when I forgot this.
When I held a stressful job with a government agency, one Friday after work I stopped for a red light with thoughts of poor me, blame them.
Suddenly I was rear-ended and to make a long story short, I suffered a whiplash injury.
This evolved into a yearlong recovery with an orthopedic surgeon.
Finally at the end of one visit, he told me he had done all he could and suggested I see a psychiatrist.
I left his office in shock.
After one visit with a psychologist, I knew that this was not my answer.
At this time I attended a meeting of Overeaters Anonymous and during my sharing, I blurted out that I was miserable in my marriage.
I felt it was a dead-end relationship.
Once I admitted this, the pain in my neck, shoulder and arm disappeared.
I had suppressed my unhappiness with a marriage of twenty-two years.
I have learned that all illnesses and all accidents have a root cause created by an aspect of us that we are not willing to deal with.
We hide the root emotion of the event(s) deep within our subconscious mind where it ferments into blame, hatred, lack of self-love, unworthiness, failure and depression.
We each contributed to our own miseries and there is no one to blame except our self.
Having studied quantum physics, I have a broad understanding of why things happen.
Our thoughts and the words we use magnetize incidents and people to us, which can be either good or bad.
It is all dependent on the type of words we speak and the hidden thoughts.
Other aspects of the use of words and thoughts are to ask our self, do my words match my action? This is similar to taking a moral inventory such as how honorable are we to our self.
Do we lie to others to cover-up? Do we cheat on time we give our employer or our customers? Do we steal? Do we treat others, as we want to be treated? All of these reflect on our inner world.
Every thought we have and every word we speak matters and these all carry energy to the degree of the emotion we place on them.
By becoming aware of taking responsibility for the way our lives are, we begin the road to recovery.
My book Awakening the Genie Within, which gives the story of my journey and the tools I used will be released in August 2008 and will be available from my website http://www.
