How to Cut Chrome
- 1). Clamp your chrome surface in place on your work table. You want to ensure it doesn't move as you cut it.
- 2). Take safety precautions by putting on goggles and heavy work gloves before cutting.
- 3). Mark the spot you want to cut with a washable marker.
- 4). Place your non-dominant hand over the chrome piece for added stabilization. Be sure your hand is nowhere near the area you're cutting.
- 5). Center the blades of a hacksaw over the chrome piece. Slide the hacksaw back and forth with your dominant hand to cut through the chrome.
- 6). Stop periodically as you cut to ensure you're still cutting the line you drew. This helps ensure accuracy.
- 7). Wipe away the washable marker with a damp cloth once you complete the cut.
