How to Apply Gothic Eye Makeup
- 1). Prep the eye area. Before you begin applying your makeup, it important to cleanse, moisturize and apply eye cream. Allow the eye cream to absorb into your skin for approximately 10 minutes. Once it has absorbed, apply under-eye concealer.
- 2). Apply the eye-shadow base. It is important to use a base when you are applying Gothic eye makeup. You want the colors to retain their boldness throughout the day. Using your fingertip or a brush, apply your eye-shadow base to your lid.
- 3). Apply the medium-colored eye shadow in an even layer on your eyelid. You can use any medium shade ranging from medium brown to medium gray.
- 4). Apply the medium-dark eye shadow, using a makeup brush. You may want to apply it over your whole eyelid, or you may only want to apply it to the outer two-thirds of your eyelid. Make sure you blend away any harsh lines.
- 5). Apply the black eye shadow. With an angled brush, use your black eye shadow to contour your eye and create a more dramatic look. Use a blending brush to blend away any harsh lines. If necessary, use more of the medium and medium-dark eye shadow to even out the color.
- 6). Line your eyes once you are satisfied with your eye shadow. You can use either a pencil eyeliner or liquid eyeliner in black. Apply the liner on both the top and the bottom lids. Clean up any harsh lines.
- 7). Apply mascara. Once your eye shadow and eyeliner are in place, it’s time for the final step. Apply a coat of black mascara. If you desire thicker eyelashes, allow the first coat of mascara to dry and then apply a second coat. Enjoy your Gothic eye makeup!
